Steve sent his pictures of the 34.14 into Carp Talk
last week and got the coveted front cover, which really had Steve chuffed, me as
well, it isn't often a day ticket lake gets the front cover but hopefully we'll
have it again sometime.
Steve's been back since and had a few more to 19
plus, I witnessed one of them on my way back from a meeting in Colchester, at 17
pound it wasn't the biggest but was still a nice sight when I was supposed to be
at work, I did a few pics because it was such a nice fish (see below). It's still
fishing good, well excellent really considering some waters still haven't done a
single fish. The syndicate lake hasn't but one or two of the members have
started to have a go so it shouldn't be long now.
Last weekend was a bit slower than some have been
but the 30 plus common came out and a few others leading up to the
weekend. This week there has been some out to Steve and his brother in law
and as far as I know some other anglers have had a few, Mark Twin had a 17 and
an 18 on an over nighter.
A couple of weeks ago now my nephew Neil White
travelled down from Lincoln and did a couple of nights catching 8 fish
including a 20, 23 and 29. I think I already reported this but I finally
have the pictures of him. The picture of the 23 is what prompted me to do
this report. There has been a lot of low 20's out of the lake in the last
year or so but I never seem to get the pictures. These for me are the
interesting fish which are growing up nicely and are the best scrappers I have
fished for for years. Neil said it took ages to land and having had the 29
before and thought the 23 was going to be massive. Look at the
picture, they are really nice fish.
That's it for now, if you are not fishing you're
missing out on the chance of some early season carp.
