There's a lot of fish coming out of the day ticket
lake at the moment to almost any method of
fishing. Zigs, floaters, margins, method, single hook baits, pva bags,
bait boating, spodding and simply a few boilies around an hook bait have all
produced in the last few weeks.
Mark Twin has been doing a lot of single nights
between work and had a lot of fish since his 2 nights that produced his 25, 28
and 29 pounders. Mark re-captured his personal best mirror the other
morning at a new PB of 29lb 3oz. Mark has caught every time so far
having up to 6 fish a night, margin fishing, zigs and simply casting to where he
sees the fish showing.
Danny Flanigan has been catching steadily with
several multiple fish days including a few 20's. Dan has had them using a
bait boat, spodding, boilies only, zig fishing etc, etc. He tries
everything, quickly changing his tactics to the bast method on the day, often
moving swim to keep on the fish.
Darren and Aaron, who I reported last year on their
floater prowess had 18 fish in a day of the top recently including a 35lb
8oz mirror which is the 32 I put in last winter. They simply fed the ducks
and swans untill they were full up to allow them to catch all the fish.
They've also had a good few of the bottom including a couple of 20's to 28
plus.
There was a 35.08 of the bottom a few weeks ago,
reported in a previous report. I still haven't had or seen the pictures
of that fish so don't know if it is the same one (the 32) or if it's Pete
Dickels 34 from early spring but it's fair to say we should have 2 mid 30's at
the moment.
There's also still a fair amount of 20's being
caught. One angler had 2 x 21's and a 23 in the same session the other
week, Dan had a 21 mirror last week and several other anglers have had
20's. Many of these have been since the fish spawned for a few days
so I'm sure there will be a lot more 20's caught this year as the small fish
removals seem to be working now to add extra pounds to the bigger
fish.
I still need pictures for the gallery please.
I've had hardly any in this year which is a shame really. I've just sent
Elton who sorts the site some but it is only the tip of the iceberg as there had
been good fish caught every week for ages now. Even if you have old
pictures from last year I still want them so I can compare growth rates from
year to year and up date the 2009 gallery. Please send the pictures in to
bayeswater@aol.com which I check
daily.
