Restocking The Day Ticket Water

Feb 11,2008

Last Tuesday 5th February we had our first attempt at netting the stock pond.

As you can see we had a lot against us, the bottom isn’t level enough and the mud is very slippery.

There should be 150 or more fish in there but so far we’ve only got 34 out.  These all went into the day ticket lake.

Over the weekend I’m going to drain as much more water out as possible and catch the rest, I hope.

I’m a little bit disturbed to have found very dodgy line in the stock pond.  A lead, tied on and a big hook with about 20lb line caught in the net.  We don’t know who’s responsible but we need to keep our eyes peeled at all times.  There are definitely fish thieves and poachers about, all over the country.  How successful they are we can’t tell but it’s something we don’t want happening at all.  If anyone see’s anything untoward PLEASE phone Anne, Steve or David (the farmer) immediately.

I’ll let you know how we do catching the rest of the fish.

Cheers,

Gary
