March 2007 Update

I promised catch reports and news from Bayeswater a bit more regular than this a few weeks ago.
There's been quite a few caught, including one or two twenties, but as usual I haven't been sent pictures. Now, without this turning into a big old whinge, I really do want to see more pictures coming my way. It doesn't matter if they are prints, slides or digital, we can use them all.



As I've said, there have been a few out lately; in fact, there's been loads. True to form the action has been all or nothing, typical April action really, never consistent. The thing is, it's still March, the spring has come early, so if we are nearly a month ahead then April should have May weather. If you still haven't got the rods out yet, don't miss the potential early season. If you look at the website you will see the bendy story, we messed up and showed one side of the 16lb Bendy and the other side of a common carp. Oops! Well, big Bendy has been caught, more than 1lb up which goes to show there's been a good bit of feeding going on.

The fish are being caught on all methods now, a few weeks ago maggots were the best bet. The boilies are catching a much better average weight of fish, so don't try just one method. Next time I get down, end of March time, I'll be using two rods on maggots and two rods on boilies. The roach, rudd, tench and perch will soon become a pest on the maggot. There are some good fish of all these species, largely neglected, good fun though. Again, I could do with pictures, the other option is to keep seeing my ugly mug, because I'll certainly be having a go.
