It's been a long cold and wet winter but I reckon
it's only going to get better now.
Finally the gravel company have made a bit better
job of the track so at least it's not to bad to get to the lakes now.
There has been a few out to those that have tried, I put a couple of 30's in and
we had some 20's to 28 and an half (a common pics will follow) when we had a
little go at netting.
Steve and his brother in law have been having a go
throughout the winter, even breaking the ice some sessions. Between them
they have had 40 plus fish. The last session, after we netted Steve had 10
carp with only one below 15 pound, and a tench. All the fish are in good
nick so and seem to have not suffered in the horrible winter we have had.
Personally I think it's been so cold they simply stayed dormant so didn't waste
energy at all.
There hasn't been all that many anglers on since
Christmas but there has been about 60 or so fish caught even in the ever
changing conditions. I reckon it'll be a good year this year so I'm looking
forward to seeing lots of fish being caught and can't wait to see the 30's on
the bank.
Good fishing,
Gary
