Steve's Fantastic Weekend

We received this nice email from Steve, which we decided to share with you:

My son and I did a 48 hour session over the weekend. Surprisingly we shared the Lakes with only 2 other anglers all weekend, both other syndicate members.

In the day ticket lake fishing was very quiet Friday night and during Saturday although Steve reported that they had been spawning Thursday. This seemed to be the case again on Sunday with fish busy spawning in the reeds and in the sanctuary end.

Despite several tours we didn't see any fish moving in the Syndicate Lake.

Sunday evening was finished off with a magical sight. The sun came out and day ticket lake was covered with just a ripple reflecting the clear blue sky, and incredibly just under the surface most of the carp population came out to sun bath. I don't think that I've ever seen so many carp at one time, with such a complete lack of interest in feeding.

Total catch for weekend was 11 carp (3 off the top) plus a personal best Tench at 5lb 12oz.
