More fish go into Bayeswater

It’s my aim to create a prolific water where we can go out and get a few takes reasonably easy.  Even though there is already a lot of stock in the day ticket lake the fishing is still patchy.  It’s hard to believe that on a water, when catches such as up to 18 fish in a day, to me, 28 fish in 2 days for Nick Wright, etc etc in the winter, can produce blanks in March but this is what can happen.  Of course I’m not just talking about Bayeswater here, except for the ridiculously high stocked waters, good days and bad days occur on every lake.

Anyway I’m still increasing the stock density of Bayeswater, as an on going fishery management scheme.  On the 28th March I netted a lake in Cambridgeshire.  We caught hundreds of small carp, which went to somewhere else.  Bayeswater received just 12 fish, all around 10lb, not as many or as big as I hoped but, as you can see, absolute crackers.  These fish are young, gorgeous fish, just like all the other stock are.  I could easily get hold of old, haggard fish but, as most of you are aware, I love beautiful fish, so only beautiful fish will be introduced into Bayeswater, I hope you all agree.  Of course, there are one or two characters quassimodo and the 2 bendys, even so these are also young fish, the 16lb bendy already has increase in weight by more than a pound in just a few weeks.  The rush of 20’s caught in January and February and the overall average weight gain of the whole population suggests that the fish are doing very well.  Let’s hope they start to play ball, just a little bit more in the future, instead of the frustrating on and off catch rate we’ve experienced so far.
