SHAUN'S PUKKA COMMON

Thanks go to Shaun Hughes, who gave me the pictures of his 32 common he caught a few weeks ago.

I was told it was a stunner and it sure is, that's for sure.  We only stocked 11 commons in the first year, up to about 16 pounds, adding 4 more 2-3 years on between 9-11 pounds.  So far they have been as bit hard to distinguish because they are all very similar.  As you can see from Shaun's pictures they are just about scale perfect.

There has now been several 30 pound common captures, at least two individual fish, maybe 3, as I said they are very hard to ID but each year they are definitely putting good steady growth on, just like the mirrors, so the common carp population are becoming very exciting.

I have actually sent Elton Murphy the first instalment of pictures for the web site photo galleries this week, Shaun's fish will be going on it so maybe, eventually we might be able to track all of the fish a little easier, it should certainly help with the commons.

If you have got any photo's of fish that you don't see on the gallery please send them to me so we can build up a comprehensive library, both sides if possible.

Cheers, Gary
