END OF JULY SYNDICATE UP-DATE
Aug 07,2009 00:00 by gary
There are still fish coming out every week on the syndicate lake.  Ron gave me the pictures of this 23 fully scaled beauty.  Ron has had one or two other fish in his few visits this year, to I think, 26 or 27 pound (I wasn't really listening, sorry).  This and all his other pictures will go onto the syndicate gallery as soon as I receive them.

Tony Geary had a 32.14 just after we had finished planting in his swim.  He would of helped but was fast asleep until he had the take.  I'll get his pictures off his camera next time I see him.  He did all the watering in after the capture, good man.

Some of the regulars have been doing a bit of float fishing with maggots in between proper carping and bagging some nice perch, rudd, tench and little carp.  I had a go and caught a few baby commons.  It really is good fun and well worth a go with the chance of a big perch.  I used 6lb line straight through, just in case I hooked one of the better fish.

We did a bit more digging and planting on Sunday last, planting Norfolk reed, which does seem to grow anywhere and should give us plenty of all year cover in the future.  Unfortunately the geese love to eat it so we have had to pen the geese out!!  You might notice there is a couple of buckets in one of the pens, if you are about please give the new plants a water, to give them the best chance of taking.

I'll be planting as many more plants as possible for the rest of the year and will text as many people as possible to let them know when I'll be planting on weekends.  I haven't got everyone's phone no's but if you can could you text , mail or get your no's to me please.  This is not for press gang work party's but if you do want to help it's much easier with more bodies.

We got a lot planted in one 9-2 ish day this week with Ron, Steve, Steve, Tilly and Bill all mucking in.  Thanks lads, much appreciated.

A couple of weeks earlier we did a swim building day and got the structure for 2 and a bit swims done.  We ran out of railway sleepers and need another 8-10 to finish of the boat swim.  If you know anyone who wants to get rid of railway sleepers let me know.  I will pick them up.

These swims, when finished will have to be used instead of using all of the bank, to keep us further away from the electric cables.  In the mean time please fish as near to the bank as possible and be fully aware of the cables at all times.

That's it for now.

Gary
