LOCK THE GATES EVERY TIME

I’ve had a spell of complaints that the gate is being left un-locked recently.  I’m sorry but that isn’t allowed “EVER” and if and when we find the culprits we will have to ask them not to come back (banned basically).  If the anglers pad lock is left open we are asking for trouble, from me, the farmer and anyone who shouldn't be there.

When heavy plant is using the road or there is a boot sale on and both gates are open the farmer’s lock will have been used to open the gates.  This is the only time the gates can be left open.  The farmer will re-lock the gates when they have finished their work for the day.

Except for when there is heavy plant constantly coming in and out, the locked gates are for the angler’s security.  So far we haven’t had any incidents of gear going missing and even with locked gates that’s lucky these days.  Without the security of locked gates we would be asking for trouble, wouldn’t we?

There is a simple rule of thumb regards the gates.  If the gates are open and it’s the angler’s lock that is undone, please LOCK the gates.  If the gates are closed and even if you don’t intend to be down the lakes long (i.e. a quick visit to a mate or something) LOCK the gates.  If someone is coming to you a little later (a guest) the gates must be locked and you will have to nip to the gates and let them in, locking the gates until they want to leave, then they must be opened, guest let out and re-locked before returning to the lake.

There is simply no excuse, THE GATES MUST BE LOCKED.

We do not want people to easily get in who shouldn’t be there it’s as simple as that.

Thanks
