Layzell Lands A Lump

Paul Layzell had a good result last weekend landing a personal best 31lb 2oz mirror as his first fish out of the syndicate lake, on I think, his first session.

I haven't got much more info on the capture but it seems there was a lot of fish on the munch that day as there was 3 other fish caught between 19 and 22 lb.

This fish is the 4th new 30 for the lake this year, it's on the cards for one or two more I'm sure.

Soon though they will be dropping their spawn which in the case of Paul's fish could mean a drop to below 30.  That's not the end of the world though because as they soon put it back on and will be a lot healthier for it.

They have been seen a lot in the margins lately which is a bit of a pain on the syndicate as there is not much cover to hide behind to stalk them.  The best you can do is just be as quiet as possible and sit well back.

I saw the irrigation pump has been set up this week so prepare for a bit of background noise and receding water levels.  Unfortunate as it is, the lake is a working reservoir and that's just what happens.
