Mark Twin sent me a report which nicely sums up a
good nights fishing. I'll let Mark tell it. I've included all the pics Mark
sent me, including the silly face and the camera shake, it makes it real in my
opinion.
Last Saturday I fished the day ticket lake with my
brother
(Daniel) and four of our children. We did not arrive till 4pm and with 5 other anglers already fishing there we decided to fish near to the stock pond. We had just got the rods set up and just started
putting
up the tents when one of my brothers alarms let out a 1 toner. After fighting the fish for 15 minutes and myself having to get into the margins to untangle the line from the reads we weighed the mirror and it took the scales to 14lb 9oz. We didn't receive our next fish till 7:45. Again it was
Daniel who caught it, another mirror this time 12lb.
Two anglers were fishing the other side of the lake and
spodding out loads of bait to the middle. With the wind blowing towards us we
decided to get our rods near to where he was feeding, from our side of the lake
(about 10 yards short of the spot). This turned out to be the best move of the
night. I had a 4lb 2oz Tench on a rod fishing in another area before the rods
near the spodded area were taking it in turns to scream off.
I ended up with a new PB of 19lb 14oz mirror, another
of 17lb 11oz and 6 others. Daniel caught one more mirror in the night weighing
10lb 14oz.
We only fished till 7:30am to get home to spend the day
with the rest of the family.
All our fish were caught on 20mm scopex red robin
boillies fished with a stringer of freebies. I feel a thank you is owed to the 2
anglers who threw all the ground bait.
Our catch report was as
follows,
5pm 14lb 9oz Mirror 7:45pm 12lb Mirror 8pm 4lb 2oz Tench 8:10pm 8lb 8oz Leather 8:45pm 9lb 8oz Mirror 9:15pm 19lb 14oz Mirror 10pm 10lb 14oz Mirror Midnight 9lb 8oz Common 1:45am 11lb 5oz Mirror 5:30am 17lb 11oz Mirror 5:50am 8lb 1oz Mirror 7am 12lb 13oz Mirror Best regards Mark
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I've been a bit to busy the last two weeks and haven't kept up very
well with the news reports. I'm sorry about that, I did intend to keep up with
anything happening or not.
To be honest though I have said it before, it is
hard to write anything without news from the anglers, so a big thank you to
Mark, Cheers mate.
I know some of you like to play it down, like the
angler who had a brace of twenties and didn't want to report them because he
likes the quietness of the lake. Lots of fishing space is nice I know, its what
I prefer which is why I love the mid week overnighters, but it doesn't half make
this job (writing news) hard work.
Well, anyway, I fished the weekend last week, 19th
of July on the syndicate lake, and blanked. Brilliant!!!!!!!!
It did put me on site though so here's the report
of the day ticket lake, as accurately as possible.
Three anglers on the point to the shallows area had
35 fish between them. The chap in the shallows was unlucky because there was an
awesome amount of fish in there early Friday evening. The temperature dropped
with a cool wind and the fish never really moved back in there the rest of the
weekend. I honestly thought he was going to really cane them and felt sorry for
him but he still managed 8 which considering the weather change was good
angling.
Ben from the syndicate took a guest onto the day
ticket lake on Saturday night. They spodded loads of hemp and bait out before
casting the rods out and had loads of action on and near it. Ben caught 6 but
his guest had an incredible 24 takes, landing I think 18 fish.
On the far bank, opposite Ben and his mate the Twin
brothers had their catch so in all there was more than 60 carp caught which
isn't bad considering I was on the nextdoor lake, blankin.!!!!!!!!
I'll try to keep you informed whats
happening
Cheers Gary
